Who says you can’t shine on Eid?

Now that Eid is almost upon us, we’re starting to worry about our skin because we all have to have that perfect glow for the big day. While we may be busy working the kitchen on Eid, this doesn’t stop us from looking our best. So GENERATION decided to bring you these following DIY face masks for which you don’t even have to leave your kitchen!

Brown Sugar and Oatmeal Scrub

First and foremost you must remember to exfoliate. A good scrub made out of brown sugar and oatmeal is just gentle enough for all skin types to remove the dead skin layer so that you can have a fresh look afterwards.

1 tablespoon brown sugar 1 tablespoon ground oats 2 tablespoons honey. Mix all the ingredients and gently scrub your face. Leave for 5 minutes and then wash off. Rice Mask

Rice water is known for its skin brightening properties and has been used since ages ago to get rid of dark spots and to even the skin tone. So here’s a quick mask recipe to give your skin tone a boost for this Eid

2 tablespoons rice flour 1 tablespoon honey 1tablespoon milk

Mix all the ingredients properly to create a flowy mixture. If too thick, add more milk. Apply on to the face in gentle scrubbing motion. Scrub gently for five minutes and then leave on for 10-15 minutes. Rinse off later.

Honey and Cinnamon

Honey is that one ingredient that is just a must have if you are going to make a DIY mask. A cinnamon and honey mask is a great mask for calming down the skin and moisturizing. It also adds a bit of a glow to the skin and that’s never a bad thing!

1 teaspoon cinnamon 1 tablespoon honey 1 teaspoon olive oil Mix the ingredients. Apply to face and leave on for 15-20 minutes. Wash off afterwards. Turmeric Face Mask

A turmeric face mask is great for acne. But besides that, it’s also great for evening out the skin tone and providing a great glow!

½ teaspoon turmeric powder ½ tablespoon honey 1 tablespoon yogurt Mix all ingredients and apply to face for no more than 20 minutes. Wash off with water. Tomato Mask

Tomato juice is a great source of lots of vitamins and is a great tool to brighten up your skin tone. This mask is a perfect fit to fight sun tan before prepping for Eid.

½ tomato Half a lemon 2 table spoon honey

Puree the tomato and add the lemon juice and honey into it. Slowly rub it onto the face and leave it there for 10-15 minutes. Wash off afterwards to reveal a glowing skin!

General tips 1- Wash face before using anything. 2- Patch test to see if you’re allergic to any of the things or not. 3- Avoid the eye area. 4- Wash hands before application.
