Subtle Solids If the sight of so much print around you has you reaching for your smelling salts, then hold that hand! Because we have something for you. Pastels and the spring/summer season goes arm in arm (not just hand in hand). The soothing hues and subtle prints are a classic and will last you for times to come! Summer Kotis Please stay away from people who say, “But layering is only for winter!” It most certainly is not! Just look at these fun kotis to become a believer of all things jackets. And it is not just kotis, long flowing jackets (as shown above in print-on-print), and frilly mid-length jackets (as shown below in fringe and tassels) can all be worked if you’re game enough! Ruffle It Up While the overall silhouettes may have slimmed out since the humongous multi-panelled shirts from 2008, a little volume in the sleeves and hem is more than welcome. Add the ruffles to your sleeves or trousers’ hem to keep it subtle yet trendy. Adaab Anarkali No, we’re not talking about the grand multi-panelled anarkalis. Our love affair for those is on a hiatus. We aren’t saying we’re totally over them, but currently we suggest you keep it subtle with a side gala and minimal pleats! Pockets, pockets all the way! Who doesn’t love a pair of handy pockets? We certainly do. Shove in your car keys, cellphone (if it isn’t a humongous one) and a lip balm to keep your life fuss-free. At least, you’ll have less of those “forgot my car keys inside” moments. Now, all you need is to put your hands in the pockets, pout, and keep your head high to nail the power pose. Sweep Them Ankles This silhouette does two things and both are extremely flattering. It adds an illusion of height AND it makes you look slimmer. While we totally endorse rocking our unique body shapes and sizes, we certainly feel these long dresses add a touch of regality to our otherwise mundane lives. Fringe And Tassel A tasselled pallu? Yes, please! A fringed jacket? Why the hell not! Tassels hanging from a dori? Sigh, this is what dreams are made of. A tiny touch of tassel (or fringe) instantly uplifts an outfit, and we respect our tiny buddy for its massive, multi-purpose contribution to the fashion scene since our par-nani’s times! So, give that tassel or fringe a go if you haven’t yet. Cinch That Waist If you want to flaunt ‘em curves then you’ll totally dig this trend. And even if flaunting isn’t your thing, then too we insist you give the cinched waist a go, because it looks so pretty! And the contrasting panels further funk things up!
